Funds for Sergeant Johnsey

On Monday Portland Police Sgt. Robert Johnsey was killed in an accident at his home in Westbrook.  The Portland Police Department has set up two funds to honor his memory and to support his family:

The Portland Police Officer's Association has established a scholarship fund for Sgt. Johnsey's two children.  Donations can be made to the "Sgt. Robert Johnsey Memorial Scholarship Fund".  The Portland Police Department has set up a second fund to help assist with funeral expenses and help meet the family's immediate needs.  Those donations can be made to the "Johnsey Family Fund".  You can mail your donation to:

Bob Dyk Audio

WGAN's Bob Dyk passed away Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 at the age of 71. 

Bob covered a number of stories for WGAN during his time as an anchor and reporter. Here are just a few samples of his work:

February 2007-Mild Winter, Maine Issues-With winter 2007 beginning as one of the most mild in memory, Bob reported on the impact of the warmer weather on Maine's logging industry.

September 2006-After Katrina-Maine's Hurricane Readiness 1 year later-On the 1-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Bob looked at the state of Maine's emergency management systems and whether Maine is ready for a major hurricane. 

July 2006-Cracking Down: Suspended Drivers in Maine-1 year after Scott Hewitt was involved in the deadly crash that killed Scarborough native Tina Turcotte, Bob reported on the status of Hewitt's case at that point and the likely outcome of his criminal case.
