Ken Altshuler joined the WGAN Morning News in the fall of 2003. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ken graduated from the University of Michigan in 1974 with a science degree. He eventually migrated east, living in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts before attending the University of Maine School of Law and graduating with a law degree in 1985.
After getting his law degree at UMaine, Ken entered private practice and is now a partner in the Portland firm of Childs, Rundlett, Fifield, Shumway & Altshuler. Ken is the former chairman of the Maine State Bar Association Family Law section, as well as the section’s former secretary and legislative liaison. He has taught course in family law for the University of Southern Maine and Andover College.
In addition to being an attorney, Ken has had a wide variety of life experiences including owning a bookstore, baking bagels, building bicycles, directing a duplicate bridge club and being an accountant.
Ken is not a newcomer to the radio industry. At the age of thirteen, he worked as a sidekick for two local disc jockeys on WKY in Oklahoma City. Since then, Ken has had radio shows in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Plainfield, Vermont; and Amherst, Massachusetts.
Ken is married to Dr. Lynda Doyle, a therapist in private practice in Yarmouth, Maine. He is also the father of two children: Amy, who lives in New York City and works for Glenn Beck at CNN, and Chelsea, who lives in Boston.
